Fire Safety FUN

Last week was National Fire Prevention Week so we stayed busy learning all about fire safety. We read lots of books that taught us many important fire safety rules. One of our favorites was called Stop,Drop & Roll by Margery Cuyler. We also talked about what to do if our clothing caught on fire and the importance of having an escape plan and a family meeting place in case there really was a fire at our house.

All of our centers were fire themed , too!!!  Here’s a little peek at some of the fun things we did to review lots of the skills we have been working on in reading and math.

We also began learning how to apply what we have learned about addition and subtraction up to this point in our math series.  By using the numbers in a “number family” we wrote addition and subtraction sentences.
