Orange Day

Yesterday for “Orange Day” we read The Cats Colors by Jane Cabrera.  Then we made a cat book of our own about things that are orange. We worked hard to sound spell all of our orange words and add details to our pictures.DSCN1837DSCN1834   DSCN1838DSCN1839DSCN1842DSCN1840DSCN1841DSCN1848DSCN1845DSCN1846DSCN1847

We also read The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Manus Pinkwater and painted a picture of our dream house, just like Mr. Plumbean did in the story.DSCN1854DSCN1852DSCN1850DSCN1859DSCN1858

Here’s a {sneak} peek of a few of our dream houses.  We have some pretty good imaginations!!!DSCN1868 DSCN1869 DSCN1870DSCN1861DSCN1862DSCN1863           DSCN1864 DSCN1865DSCN1866DSCN1867At the end of the day our para Mary read us one last orange story called  Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.  We learned about bullying and how it affects our friends at school.  We also practiced writing our first and last name neatly and created a math problem to see who had the longest name in our class.   DSCN1871
