Apple Day

This morning we began the day by going to the IDL  lab(Interactive Distance Learning Lab) to do some apple activities with a teacher from Girard, KS.  Through the use of a web cam we could see her and she could see us.   First we used our 5 senses to discover some of the properties of an apple.  100_2863100_2856 100_2859100_2860 100_2857100_2864

Then we learned about the steps in the scientific method and did an apple sink/float experiment.

This afternoon we read Ten Apples Up On Top! by Dr. Seuss and practiced making combinations of 5 with red and green apples.

Then we worked with a partner using red and green dice to create and solve our own apple addition math problems.100_2868
