Yellow Day

Thank goodness the sun decided to shine for us today on “yellow day”.  It was so nice to get to go outside and play.  Being cooped up in our classroom all day makes for an extra long day of school.

In honor of the color yellow we enjoyed some yellow Jelly Bellies today for a snack thanks to Garrett and his family.  We also . .

-  read the book In My New Yellow Shirt by Eileen Spinelli and did a creative writing activity that we hung in the hallway

- read the book Dandilion by Dan Freeman and made a lion of our own.

- read the book Gus The Bus by Howie Schneider and put together a bus puzzle and did a rhyming word worksheet

Today the cafeteria served Super Sub Sandwiches.  I guess they must have been really good because two of the boys in our class asked the lunch ladies for the recipe so their mom’s could make them at home.  Everybody grab a pen because here is the special recipe . . .

Super Sub Sandwich Recipe

2 slices of ham

1 slice of cheese
