This past week we did several activities to review the short vowel sounds.
This is a short vowel flip book that we made. We began by gluing all of the vowels on the front Then we cut out short vowel pictures and glued them under the correct vowel sound. We finished up by sound spelling each word.
We also used letter tiles to build short vowel words.
One of our favorite games to play is “Chipper Chat Challenge”. This week we divided up into two teams and raced against each other to spell short vowel words on the board.
We also played a fun math game on Thursday called “Four In A Row Math” to practice our addition skills. We teamed up with a partner and rolled dice to create addition math problems. The goal was to get four spaces covered in a row. We had to be careful though because our partner tried to block us from winning.
