It seems that I am a little late with this post. For the past two weeks we have learning about bunnies. Besides learning lots of interesting facts about them we have also been doing lots of fun centers and writing activities that are themed around both bunnies and Easter.
We’ve counted money in Easter eggs.
Matched sets of antonyms on egg cards.
Unscrambled Easter words and illustrated them.
Put Easter words in ABC order.
Listened to Teddy’s Easter Secret and sequenced events from the story in a book of our own.
Made a sentence wheel about bunnies and used it to write super sentences and then illustrate them.
Used number cards to create the largest and smallest numbers possible with three digits.
Unscrambled sentences about bunnies and Easter.
We’ve also learned how to use Word to type sentences using our spelling words.
To wrap up our unit we celebrated Bunny Day on Friday. Everyone got to bring their favorite stuffed animal bunny from home.
We began the day by working with a partner (and our bunnies of course) to solve addition and subtraction story problems.
Then we got new partners and used a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast our furry friends.
We ended the day by reading The Tale of Peter Rabbit and then we sequenced pictures from the story in our own book and worked on rewriting the story using lots of details.
We finished off our book with a cute Peter Rabbit art project.
